Girls ‘Menace’ to Boys Criticism of modern schoolgirls was made by Rev Eric Treacy, Vicar of St Mary’s, Edge Hill, Liverpool at a

week-end conference of club workers and leaders at the

Liverpool Boys’ Association camp, Heswall, Wirral.

“Schoolgirls subject many decent boys to temptation.” he said.

“It has amazed me to see the precocity of the average schoolgirl. Girls develop in the poorer districts at an alarmingly early age, and they are a real menace to many decent boys.”

Mr Treacy then criticised modern parents who, although not particularly bad, were lacking in responsibility. So long as their children were clothed and fed and reached home at not too late an hour, they did not care what they did.

The vicar also condemned the game of “Tig,” played by boys and girls.
